Choosing a substrate is a tricky game when you first start out. Each has its advantages and disadvantages. To name a few, batmix is a concentrated blend of nutrient rich soil, peat and bat guano, pebbles hold no nutritional value and can be fed in a constant stream, coco is made from coconut husk, is light and springy, and has no nutritional content. Not all substrates are correct for all types of plants at all stages and may require some special treatment. If you are stuck on which type to choose, feel free to ask our staff for advice or further information.
